The firm is the leader in the redevelopment Daytona Beach.
Boardwalk Redevelopment: We negotiated development agreements with the City of Daytona Beach for one hundred fifty million-dollar revitalization of the Boardwalk and for a fifty million-dollar the rehabilitation of the historic Main Street Pier.
The Boardwalk project consisted of two convention center hotels, retail space, restaurants, plazas, and public parks using tax increment financing.
Main Street Pier: The Main Street Pier plans called for a new amusement pier containing various rides, including a landmark Ferris wheel, roller coaster, and carousel.
Water Park: We negotiated a development agreement with Volusia County for a fifteen-million dollar water park. We handled all legal issues surrounding the negotiation of the lease and the construction of the park.
Ocean Center: For the seventy million dollar expansion of the Ocean Center, we represented the successful bidders for the construction contract, the architectural contract, and the construction manager contract.
Miscellaneous: We represented the city, obtaining county permission to extend the Boardwalk and preserving the city’s authority over its community redevelopment areas. When the county threatened the redevelopment with a draconian turtle lighting ordinance, we negotiated modifications for Daytona Beach’s core tourist area, protecting turtles while allowing the redevelopment to continue.
